Cumbria Mobility are proud to be supplying the newly redesigned Kuschall Champion wheelchair.
What makes the Kuschall Champion so unique compared to other manual wheelchairs is its design. It's rigid yet portable, and there's really no other wheelchair like it!
Not only have Kushall's expert designers created the first fixed foldaway wheelchair in the entire world, but they've gone on to make various improvements to ensure that it retains its well-deserved place as one of the favourite manual wheelchairs for people with varying disabilities and mobility issues.
Kuschall is a Swiss brand that was founded in 1978 by a quadriplegic called Rainer Kuschall, and in 2003, the company won a prestigious innovation award for its first Champion model. The latest version of the chair is accompanied by the tagline, "small wonder" due to its incredibly compact size when folded away.
Picture an A4 folder, which measures 31cm at its widest point. That's how small this wheelchair becomes thanks to its new front-folding frame. However, as the majority of users of wheelchairs are restricted in movement, the chair has been designed to flatten down in three simple steps.
It's not only easy to store away for quick transportation by car, bus, or train, but it's even accepted as hand luggage by many major airlines.
Despite being foldable, the latest-generation Champion is sturdy enough to cope with whatever everyday life throws at you. Plus, it can be fully configured thanks to the cleverly designed adapter plate, which means that the distance to the folding mechanism is always the same and the rear seat height can be precisely adjusted.
Your centre of gravity is also assured through the nine different positions offered by the chair's central element. Plus, the front wheel support can be adjusted to fit your leg length.
Kuschall Champion wheelchairs also allow you to choose from a range of options to suit your needs and personal taste. You can opt for Matrix seat cushions and matching backrest, and pick a titanium or carbon frame in combination with carbon side components in a choice of colours including Royal Blue, Smokey Grey, Ivory White, and Royal Red.
The seat width can accommodate 360mm to 480mm in increments of 20mm while the seat depth can cater for 340mm to 480 mm, and the backrest can be angled between 76 degrees and 94 degrees.
We offer free home assessments throughout Cumbria and much of Lancashire, Dumfries and Galloway.
